I realized last year that it’s good to be on the same Bible Reading Plan and/or devotional plan with friends. You have a connection if you’re reading the same things daily. Conversations about these connections solidify our individual and shared wisdom.

Last year, my Bible reading plan came from our denomination as a multifold bookmark with 365 readings. I love the title, especially with all the chaotic hindsight: 2020, Year of the Bible: Reading Guide. Indeed! That title was a daily encouragement–even before I cracked open the text.

This year, for Bible reading, I’ve subscribed to The Gospel Coalition’s daily email. If you’re interested, you can subscribe here. I’m planning to focus on the New Testament in 2021.

For devotional reading, I’m doing Timothy Keller’s The Songs of Jesus: A Year of Daily Devotions in the Psalms. Diedra and I did Keller’s devotions on Proverbs in 2020, and I highly recommend it.

Whether or not we’re doing the same thing this year, May the Lord bless you as you seek Him in 2021.
