No matter how rich or poor–we only have twenty-four hours in a given day. After sleeping, eating, bathing, working, we have a small amount of discretionary time that we get to choose to use in a variety of different ways.
Besides time, each day, we have a certain amount of emotional energy to spend. This energy is scarce, and extremely valuable. It may be negative or positive, or anywhere in between. You can sell it, give it away, and/or use it to build value in your work and your relationships. Or to destroy.
Spend wisely, my friends. You can’t afford to sell your joy to the lowest bidder. You can’t afford to have it stolen by toxic enterprises. If you invest it well–particularly in the next generation–it will grow with compounding interest.
