Frugality: noun the quality of being economical with money or food; thriftiness

This is a high value. Sometimes we call it “stewardship.”

Beware that it might be a shiny veneer for greed.

Your frugality must not turn into contempt for the spending patterns of others–or a means by which you pat yourself on the back.

Your frugality must not keep you from sharing your stuff and giving sacrificially to others.

Your frugality must not keep you from being generous, but be working to free up more resources to be even more generous.

If your friends joke about you being tight–that’s probably not a good thing. Much better for them to expect that they might have to fight you for the check at the end of the meal.

Save it so you can give it away.
